This Privacy Policy sets out how the individual developer (the "Developer") handles user information in the iOS app "Nextation" (the "App").

1. Basic policy

The App shows where you are and which station is next while you are on a train, and gives you an approach alarm for your destination station so that you do not miss your stop. The Developer processes only the minimum information required to provide these features, and in principle processes it entirely on your device. The Developer does not collect, store, or track personally identifiable information or location data on any server of its own.

2. Information the App uses

Location (precise location)

Purpose: To determine the nearest station, the line you are travelling on, and the next station from your current location, and to show them in the Home Screen / Lock Screen widgets and in Dynamic Island / Live Activity. Also to detect that you are approaching the destination or a transfer station on a route you saved, and to alert you.
Background use: So that the approach alarm can work while the App is not open, location is used in the background as well, only if you have granted permission.
Using location requires your consent in the system permission dialog shown at first launch. You can change or revoke permission at any time in the iOS Settings app.

The App does not collect personal information such as your name, e-mail address, phone number, contacts, or advertising identifier (IDFA).

3. Sending information outside the device

The App does not send or store your location on the Developer's servers (the App has no backend server of its own).

However, in order to obtain the nearest station name, line names, and the preceding and following stations, the App queries the following third-party public APIs, sending only the coordinates (latitude and longitude) being looked up. Each query is self-contained and carries no information that identifies you (no account, no device identifier).

4. Information stored on your device

The following is stored only on your device and is not sent anywhere.

The routes you saved (departure, destination, and transfer stations) and their alarm settings
Temporary display data such as the nearest station and the next station estimated from your location

These are shared only within the same App Group so that the app and its widget extension can show the same information. Deleting the App also deletes this on-device data.

5. Tracking and advertising

The App does not track your behaviour. It contains no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK, and no third-party tracking tools whatsoever.

6. Children's privacy

The App is not directed at any particular age group, and as described above it does not collect personally identifiable information.

7. Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be revised in response to changes in law or to new features. Significant changes will be published on this page.
